Egypt on its way to a sustainable destination…a first step…Green Star Hotels in Egypt
Besides its cultural heritage Egypt’s natural resources such as unspoiled beaches, unique fragile marine life and crystal clear water are the key factors of the country’s tourism sector. Those natural resources need to be protected in order to avoid negative aspects by the dynamic growth of Egyptian tourism.
That’s way the Green Star Hotel Initiative was started.
The Green Star Hotel Initiative is a national eco-certification and capacity building programme, tailor-made for the Egyptian hotel sector to encourage Egyptian hotels and resorts to move towards more sustainability.
By working in partnership with the leading international tourism organizations, key players of the Egyptian and German tourism sector, the Egyptian tourism industry and the Egyptian tourism authorities, the Green Star Hotel Initiative is highly accepted and recognized at both the national and international levels.
